“buried” is a coming-of-age story of self discovery entangled in a poeticized history of the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and ultimate destruction of ancient Pompeii. Over the course of the show, an ensemble of Pompeiians excavate their entombed city, uncovering pieces of their own lives and deaths. Through their lost stories and songs, we discover the elation, the heartache, the anger, and the fire that exists in the shadow of a volcano.
